- On 22 May 2017, 22 people lost their lives in a terrorist attack at Manchester Arena. After losing her son, Figen Murray campaigned fiercely to change the law, ensuring people are safer at public premises and events. Today, Martyn's Law has received Royal Assent.
- The Foreign Influence Registration Scheme took another step towards implementation today, with regulations laid in Parliament to bring the Scheme into force in July. The Scheme will improve transparency around foreign influence in our country and highlight covert activity.
- The Russian state – including its President – will be specified under the Enhanced Tier of the National Security Act’s Foreign Influence Registration Scheme.
