- Well, obviously it’s gotta be great for projects, the Pergantism is in the title.
- Reposted by Daniel KosticA new special issue of Philosophical Transactions B takes on one of science’s biggest questions: how life begins. Rather than retracing Earth’s history, the authors look for the universal conditions that could make life possible anywhere, approaching the question from many fields and angles.
- What a magnificent scene, indeed! I was already a huge fan of Fontaines D.C., CMAT, and Lankum, but discovering this treasure trove of new bands just made my day. I’m diving headfirst into the discographies of the new favs: Problem Patterns, Sprints, Bicep, Gilla Band, and For Those I Love.

- Couldn't agree more. Student evals never helped me teach better. What did help: reading + sharing with colleagues. In NL, evals even ask things unrelated to my teaching: 'Differences between students w/ respect to language proficiency don’t affect the quality of teaching in this course negatively?'

- The philosophical point was never that we don't have the same sensory experience, but that we could have different qualia from it. Philosophers argued, via modal epistemology that qualia can't be explained physically, hence the hard problem of consciousness. #hardproblem @davidchalmers.bsky.social
