- Let us suppose that a public figure who abhors racism- as he frequently says- posted a video including racist imagery because he didn’t watch the video. In that case, would we not expect a quick denunciation and apology? And in the absence of such, could we not assume he was ok with that imagery?
- The underlying story of the last ten years of NJ politics has been the declining power of the once omnipotent county parties. Regardless of who winds up winning in NJ11, the power they once had to pick candidates in high profile elections is in terminal decline.

- Malinowski leading in Essex makes it real tough to see how Gill or Mejia can win.

- Montclair turnout is going to be more than 10% of the entire district in the NJ11 special, which is wild, and probably good news for Gill.
- The real question was never, “Why aren’t women buying crypto?” but “Why in the world were men buying it?”
- My book on Bitcoin Bros is out next week, so if Bitcoin could avoid going to zero for another few days, I would appreciate it.
- In NJ11 special election, turnout as of noon is ~35K, probably looking for a total of ~50K before close of polls. Essex is putting in about 2000 more ballots than Morris, and that margin has been increasing.
- As of noon, Essex is significantly outpacing Morris in Election Day voting- about 5,000 to 4,000, and Montclair has more EDay voters than any other municipality in the district. That’s probably bad news for Malinowski, who’s more reliant on Morris support.
- Of the candidates outside of the top tier in the NJ11 race, I found Croft to be the most impressive on the stump. She’s been doing a great job of channeling grass roots anger at Trump while not coming off as angry. Appeals to her role as a mom help with a traditional gender story.
- I’m not at all convinced that their preferred candidate, Lt Gov Way, will be the beneficiary of all the attacks on Malinowski. If anything, they’re likely to split the centrist vote and benefit the lead progressive candidate, Mejia.

- This is made worse by the extent to which platforms use their BTC holdings as reserves and leverage. It’s a house of cards. BTC drops too much, everything goes down with it.
