- The great Buddha at Tennō-ji next to the Yanaka cemetery, Tokyo. This bronze sculpture was made in 1690. You can't really see the size here, but the sitting figure has the height of a (tall) grown man. It is generally referred to as Tennō-ji Daibutsu (天王寺大仏: The great Buddha at the Tennō temple).

- Today, in Sweden, it's Lucia - celebrated with women (and men) dressed in white and holding candles, while singing. So for the occasion I will share this vintage photo (probably dating to the 1920s-30s). Read ALT-text to see why is a rather special, though. #Lucia
