- My kids spent dinner arguing about whether unicorns fart. They came to the agreement to at they must fart, because horses fart. Then they began arguing about what unicorns fart.
- My 5yo asked me how animals evolve today and I’ve been preparing for this parenting question my entire career.
- Look, the world is terrible, but multiple times a day my priest sends me videos of stuffed animals reenacting scenes from Heated Rivalry, and this is getting me through.

- Each year since I began studying birds, my mother has given me bird Christmas ornaments. This year she gave me two species I’ve studied extensively, a Ptilinopus fruit dove, and a House Sparrow. They join my large collection of bird ornaments on my tree.
