- youtube downloading is fixed reliably! (for now, at least) go try it with various settings, all formats & qualities should be back: cobalt.tools it’s unknown for how long this will last, but hopefully it’ll be all sunshine and rainbows for a bit
- we tried one more solution to fix downloading from youtube, but it doesn't scale. it'll be broken until we figure it out. the problem is not on our side, it's youtube pushing even more restrictions than before. we did all we could to let people have free access to information.
- cobalt wasn't able to save youtube videos for a few hours, but it's fixed now! less formats though, so if you don't get 4k videos, try enabling HLS in video settings it's more of a bandaid fix, but it works for now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ cobalt.tools
- seems like there’s an increased amount of random errors related to youtube saving, typically leading to 0 byte files, since cobalt handles everything else trying again several times helps, but we’ll try to come up with a proper fix asap and come back with an update :3
- forgot to post here, but saving from twitter has been fixed since yesterday! cobalt now automatically falls back to the embed api, which is still functional and should hopefully stay this way
- after several downtimes, twitter disabled the anonymous endpoint that’s used for viewing posts when logged out cobalt was using this endpoint, so it can’t get posts from twitter for now. we’ll try to figure this out in the morning and let you guys know when it’s fixed
- saving from twitter might not work properly rn due to rather obvious reasons
- you can save anything from social media with cobalt.tools without annoying watermarks or other bullshit no need to screen record reels or youtube videos, cobalt can get them for you faster and in higher quality :)
