- lol very fair. if you wanna get the L from hyde park you either take the 6 to the loop (great but it's on the other end of the neighborhood from campus), or you take the 55 west to the green or red line (also fine but requires pushing past the "don't go west of cottage grove" attitude)

- lol I was like "the metra isn't a mile away!!" and then remembered I was thinking of my house, not campus

- yeah, the Metra headways unfortunately aren't good enough for showing up on the platform whenever and grabbing the next train. but the trains do generally stick to the schedule so it's efficient if you plan ahead.
- I did see someone point out that a lot of rideshares in/out of this neighb are probably directly paid for by the university, which, fine, I am generally in favor of taking the university's money

- I don't really think this is true at all compared to other south side neighborhoods it would be nice to have direct L access but other than that the neighborhood is pretty well-served

- i mean it also did locate near pre-existing rail lines (Metra and the now defunct green line branch www.chicago-l.org/operations/l...)

- Jesus Christ, at a certain point Gen Z has *got* to give up on this weird combination of antipathy and malaise that seems to be the only way so many of them are capable of engaging with politics.
