- A LOT of work goes into these warming estimates. Bravo @climateactiontracker.org Sadly governments are not putting in the same amount of work. They're cooking the planet.
- CAT Global Update 2025 🚨 Ten years after the #ParisAgreement we see little to no measurable progress in warming projections - for the fourth consecutive year. The 2035 #NDCs have made no difference to our warming outlook. 🔗 bit.ly/CAT_Global_2...
- The IEA's first net zero scenario (NZE), published in 2021, showed emissions peaking immediately and falling to net zero by 2050. Today they published an update. Although we are behind on most things, solar and wind deployment moved EVEN FASTER than the first NZE suggested. A little ray of hope.
- Despite this, we've fallen behind the original NZE. The updated NZE shows emissions falling immediately to limit peak warming to ~1.7°C, with deep cuts and carbon removal needed to then pull back to 1.5°C. Another 5 years of delay would add a further 0.1°C to peak warming - we cannot afford this
- Really worth a read!
- 🚨🚨🚨 NEW REPORT ALERT 🚨🚨🚨 @climateanalytics.org has a new report out today that I’m really excited about. It’s all about 1.5ºC... ▶️ Is overshooting 1.5ºC inevitable? ▶️ Can we still get temperatures back below 1.5ºC? ▶️ If so, how? If you’re interested in our findings, buckle up for a mega thread...
- Reposted by Claire FysonIn the lead up to the Overshoot Conference @iiasa.ac.at Sep 30-Oct 2, the organizers had a fantastic nerdy idea to get the leading experts in their fields share their perspectives on the key themes. Highly recommend for your daily commute, background to cooking etc.: open.spotify.com/show/5MpXqh1...

- The ICJ gave a remarkably assertive ruling on the obligations of states in tackling climate change yesterday. This story about the grassroots efforts by Pacific islanders to make it happen is really worth a read. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...
- I’ve started my train-bike-ferry tour from Berlin to Leeds for Scenarios Forum! @priestleycentre.bsky.social So far so good! The train to Amsterdam was long and delayed, but the ride to Rotterdam was beautiful 🚲☀️and I enjoyed calm seas and a distant offshore wind farm on the ferry to Hull 🌬️🚢
