- In today’s episode of #FixTheForms, @pubstr.at battles to give money to an organization that’s reluctant to accept it Pro tip: if you only do usability testing with ONE bit of your site, choose the bit that allows people to pay you. Then make changes based on what you find.
- Test message. We now think that Effortmark.com is working ok (Background: our previous hosting company has been gradually ceasing to trade and we’re still managing the fallout / transfer to the new one)
- Test message to check whether effortmark.co.uk now goes to the correct website
- @support.bsky.team Please can you tell me why BlueSky is mangling the address of my website effortmark.co.uk in messages, but is working properly for other sites such as bbc.co.uk?
- This is another test message. If believ that if I type bbc.co.uk I get the website I expect, but if I type effortmark.co.uk I get something weird. Why?
- This is another test message. If believ that if I type bbc.co.uk I get the website I expect, but if I type effortmark.co.uk I get something weird. Why?
- Sorry to interrupt - this is a test message. Why is BlueSky changing effortmark.co.uk into something weird? Do I have to type www.effortmark.co.uk to get the right link?
- @jamieandlion.bsky.social BlueSky weirdly changed my correct website address to one that doesn't work, I don't know why not. And it won't let me reply to your reply to me, I don't know why not. DM is fine and to get to my website, put effortmark with .co.uk into your browser.
- We could continue to chat … my website has contact details Effortmark.co.uk

- If you happen to be in need of a rich variety of bad practice in forms design, try registering on Civil Service Pensions. Pro tip: Almost the only thing that's good about this site is that it's reasonably legible. cspsprod.b2clogin.com/82f11b3c-956...
- Had an episode of #FixTheForms about @radiobeartime.com struggling with the Civil Service Pensions website the other day. Here’s a blog post that sums up some crucial issues and links to a couple of apologies. Pro tip: Usability testing with a few people can save you from public humiliation

- A major highlight of #ukgc26 for me was having a lovely chat with Sebastian Moore. It's very unusual to find people working in #govdesign, especially at the Treasury, who are care-leavers. Read this post about him, you'll enjoy it www.northumbria.ac.uk/about-us/new...
- Today’s episode of #FixTheForms is a long-running one: @radiobeartime.com continues to battle with the Capita-outsourced civil service pensions website. Note the fine detail of “Your reference number is NOT FOUND” Pro tip: do usability testing and then make improvements based on what you learn

- In today’s episode of #FixTheForms, @adamsilverhq.bsky.social points out the problems of toast messages. Pro tip 1: toast messages - just say no. Pro tip 2: the existence of a design pattern is not enough to justify using it.
