I don't think most people realise that councils can't/won't maintain the roads on many new housing estates, so the owners have to pay for it privately. This isn't fair, as they're paying the same council tax as everyone else, to maintain other roads.
- Imagine buying a new-build and paying full council tax, only to find you must pay a private company to fix the road and streetlights - and the fees can rise at any point with no explanation. Also, you live by road full of potholes that apparently nobody owns www.newstatesman.com/politics/uk-...

The gas tanks that power the generator are overheating thanks to a heatwave affecting the UK.
