We should never normalize what is happening. We must do all we can to resist tyranny and hate — and to demand accountability.
- What could the physician have done? Checked vital signs. Sometimes a pulse is slow or thready or there are subtle signs of life. Administer CPR. Open the airway. Staunch the bleed. Why the %#*^ would you keep a doc away?
- Bacterial meningitis and advanced liver failure are high-suffering diseases. These are not good things to learn the hard way.
