My mum was working class, went to the type of secondary school where girls were encouraged to leave at 16 to train as secretaries. They saw her as the 'wrong sort', and made her do CSEs and barred her from O Levels. She fought and lost. 1/

- Another fantastic day with the #ProjectingMajesty team. This time at the National Archives, examining fourteenth century Great Wardrobe Accounts. I’d meant to take lots of photos of the team and the documents, but I was too engrossed in the accounts and discussions about Richard II’s clothes!
- This post seems to have really resonated with people, in academia and out (writers, arts, heritage, business, law…). People have shared stories and thoughts about survivorship bias and privilege. I’ve been moved by those sharing their “luck” stories (good and bad), and stories of kind mentors.
