I was re-watching Talespin when my sister came with my nephew to visit me on November last year, and she said that he shouldn't see Talespin yet cause it's PG 7+. (He's a toddler)
..Then I checked out and it's true!!
But in the 90's it was G rated, my siblings were under 7 when we watched Talespin!
And I was just a bit older, but still a kid.
I was appalled and completely baffled at the moment. And I still am!
Why did they change visual media ratings so drastically? When did this happen?
Why I didn't get to know it earlier?
It's sad now my nephew will have to wait to enjoy Talespin.
Feb 5, 2026 14:42But it's even sadder what will happen to my comic if I actually get to publish it.
Seeing Talespin case, I was worried about what rating it could have had
And I found out it'd be probably PG 8+ or even PG 13+.
For "peril, scary alien creatures, alien conspiracy, space battles and mild violence"
But if already have worked on it & took out a few things from it before checking it up for rating.
If I rework on it again and I take off more stuff...What do characters will do?
Just blow on a ball of wool to move it until boredom makes them fall asleep, and by extent the viewers as well?
