- ICYMI, our game My Friends the Monster Trainers was nominated for a Thinky Award! Still psyched to get a mention in the extremely stacked Best Free Game category, and I’m looking forward to catching as much of the ceremony as I can Wednesday.

- I love that this calls out the momentum and pacing. TH moving faster at the end (because that flows naturally from the mechanics and setup, no less!), rather than bogging you down in a super challenging final level, is one of its biggest revelations to me. It works so well with the horror theme.
- Besides being psyched for this game, can I just say this is a big deal for the “narrative deduction is a good genre name” club 😄

- Reposted by Celia2026 has the potential to be an even better year for detective games than last year, which had at least 46 releases! I made a thread here for upcoming games I am aware of. If I have played the Demo or Playtested it, I will describe the games a bit, as well as when they state their release dates.
- I just want to give a huge shoutout to @roottrees.com, a game that completely changed my 2025. First off, the game: the combination of search with fill-in-the-blank deduction hit the spot for me and made me eager for more. It kicked off a year of playing, thinking about, and making deduction games.
- I loved it enough to venture into the Roottrees discord, and found a friendly community of narrative deduction game fans, great game recommendations, and fun conversations that inspired my own creativity. The collective Secret Searcher quest to crack hidden messages in the game was a big highlight!
