- Remembering Krishna Shenoy, who died 3 years ago today. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- Great pic. Will miss him forever.
- Main postdoc study out! We can redefine prefrontal cortex regions with single-unit activity! Grateful to @carlenlab.bsky.social and @weltgeischt.bsky.social who made this crazy project real. Thanks to all co-authors, collaborators, and reviewers. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- It won't actually exist for another month or so, but because it now 'exists' on amazon, I'll humbly observe that, after working through this book, your student/trainee would be able to read and understand all but two or three papers in this week's J. Neurosci. Check it out:

- I’m grateful! Especially in light of the nontraditional-but-passionate career moves I’ve made recently (a book; a research pivot). I was unsure how those would go over; this feedback expresses Uni support. That means a lot (especially in these complex times). pan-school.sas.upenn.edu/news/nicole-...

- new paper in TICS officially out today. great learning from and writing with Anastasia, and super cool cover art from Prof. Pinar Yoldas. www.cell.com/trends/cogni...
- Our new paper is out in @natneuro.nature.com How do large-scale brain networks route information about where/what to attend at fast timescales? High-frequency bursts facilitate fast communication for human spatial attention www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- Just got an email from my SRO for the study section that was missed in October. Good news is that they are trying to reschedule ASAP (Dec/Jan). The bad news is that CSR is mandating that only the the top third (not half) of applications will get discussed for the next 2 rounds.
- Longitudinal measures of monkey brain structure and activity through adolescence predict cognitive maturation @cconstan.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s41...

- Our work with @pawa-pawa.bsky.social is out in Nature Machine Intelligence! The choice of activation function affects the representations, dynamics, and circuit solutions that emerge in RNNs trained on cognitive tasks. Activation matters! www.nature.com/articles/s42...
- Excited to share our new work with @engeltatiana.bsky.social! RNNs are often used to explore how the brain may solve specific tasks. We show that, depending on the architecture, RNNs find distinct circuit solutions, behaving differently when exposed to novel stimuli. www.nature.com/articles/s42...
- infuriated that the Republican government shutdown is, among other things, interfering with upcoming grant reviews 😡
- Our next profile is here! Dr. Christine Constantinople studies the neural mechanisms of decision-making. Follow the link below to learn more! 🧠 www.storiesofwin.org/profiles/202... #StoriesOfWiN #WomenInNeuro

- I'm curious if any senior nonhuman primate Neuro-AI researchers would be interested in joining Queen's University if we were to obtain a research chair position (full professor level)? Could you please send me a confidential message to indicate your interest? Gunnar.blohm@queensu.ca

- It's finally official! Tenured! #Neuroscience #WomenInSTEM 🧠 🧪👩🔬

- Who doesn't like a good model of the brain? Yet, from simple regression to neural nets, some limitations keep popping up (e.g., overfitting) @mjwolff.bsky.social & I saw some cool but puzzling data, ran a quick analysis & found one such limitation: model mimicry. Now in #naturecommunications &🧵below

- Can confirm that my NSF grant "How False Beliefs Form & How to Correct Them" was cancelled today because it is "not in alignment with current NSF priorities" Shocking that understanding how people are misled by false information is now a forbidden topic. Our work will continue but at a smaller scale
- NSF has posted an “update on priorities.” They’re canceling all “DEI and misinformation/disinformation” grants. And the guidance on how to fulfill the longstanding, legally mandated Broadening Participation requirement is utterly incoherent. www.nsf.gov/updates-on-p...
