Ruth Marcus was the least bad of Hiatt’s and Shipley’s deputy Opinions editors and a good columnist on the Court, but, like all of them, pulled her punches. I wrote her hundreds of critical or encouraging emails over the years, with nary a response. Like many others, I’ve been vindicated.
