- Crap. My creativity has slammed into gear again, and unfortunately NOT in the direction I was trying to take this project. I keep looking at the yarn and going "That's thin enough to make a Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch scarf out of". And I kind of want to see that. Plus some arguing too. 1/3
- This has been staring at me ever since I brought the yarn home, telling me that the lightest shade of green was just way, WAY too light a shade. So today I went back and exchanged it for a shade of brown instead. Should probably have gone lighter or darker, but I can handle this. #yarn 1/3
- After all, I'd bought the yarn for a specific project, and my creativity is trying to get me to make something else with it. Fortunately, Loops & Threads "Impeccable" yarn is not in danger of being discontinued, so I can satisfy my curiosity and still make the scarf I was aiming for later. 2/3
- And I still have a cardigan project I'm supposed to be working on, so that keeps getting delayed too. Hopefully I'll be able to trim my active projects list down eventually, right? And hopefully do some more knitting in the round on circular needles, maybe with some colourwork thrown in? 3/3
- Pop Quiz: You've got Elon's money. What's the first thing you buy that makes you happy? Eventually, *plenty* of commissions. I have only ONE ref sheet period so far, but several other OCs that need to be depicted artistically. Carl's eventual wife Sonya, for example.
- And it's complete! And very lovely. =^.^= Now that I have the technique down for this size of yarn, I will absolutely be making more of them. After all, I have three other colours to use up, and only used half the skein for this one! Absolutely worth it! #knitting #knittedhat 1/3
- Anyway, while I try to locate some suitable knitting needles to finish off the decreases, I've already completed the first two rounds of decreases on the 9" set I'm currently using. I *may* be able to decrease just once more before I absolutely need the DPNs or equivalent. #knitting #knittedhat 1/2
- And yes, it seems that I made too much ribbing compared to the cap. Something to tweak the next time I use this kind of yarn for another one. I also got to learn a new technique for decreasing with two cables. Divide your stitches in thirds, then use the first circular needle for one group... 2/3
- ...the second needle for the second group, then the first needle for the third group, and knit the first group off the first needle and onto the second. I'm actually very impressed with how well that worked! Though you do need to make sure you use the correct end of each needle... 3/3
- Forgot to put my pronouns in my bio on here. I mean, I know "Carl" *is* predominantly a male name, but hopefully it helps filter out idiots. Not that I get much engagement on here...

- Man, this much progress would have taken me quite a bit longer with DPNs, I'm pretty sure. But with appropriately-sized circular needles, it's basically a breeze! Time to try more circular needle projects! Here, I've switched from 4.5 for the ribbing to 6mm for the body. #knitting #knittedhat 1/2
- Ideally, I *should* have 5.5 and 6mm DPNs just to ensure my needle collection is complete, though I'm hoping I won't need them immediately. Should give me some time to research a nice bamboo set, then... 2/2
- Um, darn. Looks like I don't actually have any 6 or 5.5mm double-pointed knitting needles (aka, DPNs). Not really surprising, as most of my knitting needle collection has been obtained from the donated stash of a local knitting group. And I've mostly been using Worsted and Super Chunky yarn... 1/2

- Hence why I have 6.5, 7, and 8mm, and 5mm and below. A definite gap right around regular Chunky yarn. Fortunately, I do have two more 6mm circular needles, though much longer than these are. Alternating between two sets is only going to help me so far... It'll be an interesting challenge. 2/2
- Ah, right. If I use one set in one half of the round, a second set in the other half, I can use the third to knit onto. If I can't find DPNs in an appropriate size, that should be a fairly workable solution. Another tool in my arsenal, and all that. Plus my interchangeable set for two more? 3/3
- Some more Bernat Wavelength yarn I'd obtained from a donated stash. The grey is obviously "Snowflake Obsidian", but I'm not sure what the other is, especially with the poor photos they have up on Ravelry right now. More hats in the future! =^.^= #yarn

- It's taken me a while to get around to it, but I've *finally* started using this Bernat Wavelength in "Tanzanite". But this time, I have two sizes of circular knitting needles, of a length short enough to actually use to make a hat! And it's a *breeze* so far! #knitting #knittedhat 1/2
- And the colours are SO good! =^.^= Bernat Wavelength is SO GOOD on colours! And it's only lightly marled, too, which only adds extra texture, instead of making the constituent colours painfully obvious. I have three more skeins of this stuff, in red, grey, and blue/green. More hats! =^.^= 2/2
