- We’re one week away from my discussion with Archer Sullivan in Lexington at Joseph-Beth about her cracking new Appalachian PI novel The Witch’s Ghost. This book is a doozy. We need to discuss. You need to be there. www.facebook.com/share/15oCQA...
- Archer Sullivan’s buzzy new Appalachian mystery The Witch’s Orchard is wowing readers! Join us in Lexington, KY as we talk about her mountain roots, and her inspirations for this unsettling, atmospheric tale. The PI at the heart of the story, Annie Gore, is a character you won’t be able to shake.

- One fun thing about publishing is that BookScan will claim their sales calculations capture 85% of retail book sales while only reflecting 1/2 of the retail sales reflected on publishers’ sales statements & those same publishers will turn around and consult BookScan sales estimates to make decisions

- It’s great how people who are complicit in making things so miserable for so many people and who not only co-sign inhumanity and cruelty but revel in it tell you that if you express your concern about it that means you don’t love the country and you should leave.
- People who complain about Juneteenth and Pride remind me of the little kid at their sibling’s birthday party who have to get a present too so they don’t cry.

- Newly published author tripwire to avoid. If someone you know asks where they can get your book or says they’re going to buy it online & you have copies to handsell say “I have a copy with me I can sell you.” Always always include the word “sell” or they just might assume it’s a gift—which sucks.
