Double their fun - you've got room for a second floor there!

Don't make the whole floor are a second floor.....maybe an L-shaped 2nd floor - doesn't double the area of course, but you could even hinge a 2nd floor "flap" by the door so when you open it you can fold it back to give you access.....Or excavate downwards to give a basement too:)

Can’t go to deep the water table in spring is high some parts of our yard becomes a pond when it rains a lot but the L shape idea may work
