- The College Football Playoff will remain at 12 teams for at least one more season, sources tell CBS Sports. The Big Ten and SEC couldn’t agree on a format before today’s deadline. If execs want to expand for the 2027-28 season, a decision must be made by Dec. 1, 2026.
