Let me explain the math behind why the destruction of the Washington Post isn't about money.
The paper is now losing $100 million a year. Jeff Bezos is worth $253 billion. This means he could self-fund the Washington Post for THE NEXT 2,000 YEARS and still have $53 billion LEFT OVER.
I got another one: Let's say you have a net worth of $500,000. Jeff Bezos spending $100 million a year to maintain the Washington Post would be the equivalent of you spending $200 a year.
In other words, less than $17/month. Roughly the cost of Netflix. To maintain a storied institution.

They want to co-opt these venerable institutions, and when they can't, they destroy them. Deliberately. And that's what's happening.
If people could really wrap their minds around what it actually means to be a billionaire, we'd have a much easier time explaining why they are so harmful and why legislating them out of existence is imperative.
