Nancy Mace: "I had to come out with a genetic condition I've had all my life. I'm not allowed to drink or consume much in the way of alcohol. It's called hemochromatosis. If you do, it'll destroy your organs and you'll die at an early age, and I love life."
I have hemochromatosis. None of that is true. It’s basically too much iron in the blood. Left unaddressed it can lead to organ failures. But treated, no problems.
How do you treat it? You donate blood once every 3 months. That’s it. It keeps your blood ferritin levels normal.
Simple.
