At first she annoyed the SHIT out of me, but after watching her stand up I totally get her now and I absolutely adore her (maybe a little more than Josh now ngl 🙈)
Idk Josh’s comedy lost its charm for me when he became like FunnyBot from South Park:
- absurd anecdote
- connect it to current political event
- “that’s crazy/wild”
- repeat some punchline for comedic effect
- “that’s craaaazy”
- connect to the venue for half-assed “crowdwork”
- “that’s wiiiild”
I find those critiques fair! He definitely has a set style and cadence— I’d say he’s been mixin’ it up a bit more, lately. 🤔
I do appreciate that someone articulate is managing to also be patient and informative for those who need it.
