- ‘One officer told me that I "had no chance of returning to Minnesota" and that "the best thing for (me] is self-deportation." … She offered me $2600 to self-deport. I refused. I wanted to talk to my attorney. They didn't tell me the judge had already ordered my release and return to Minnesota.’

- NEW: The unfathomable Minnesota transcript that must be read, as it tells the reality of America today. "I am not white, as you can see," Julie Le — a government lawyer — told a federal judge on Tuesday. "And my family's at risk as any other people that might get picked up too ..." Law Dork:

- I don't really need you to credit me for being first with this, but at the very least consider boosting a worthy Minnesota charity. Many here, www.standwithminnesota.com, or people can support the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund, which is bonding out people detained like the petitioners in this case.
- It cost me $66.70 to get this transcript. Money well spent. I don't need anyone to reimburse me. But, if you got something out of this transcript, please consider making a $66.70 donation, or even $6.67, to the Midwest Immigration Bond Fund, which posts bond for immigration detainees. mibfc.org
- 67% of the homicides in Minneapolis and 50% of the homicides in all of Minnesota this year have been committed by federal agents. Read that again.
- While Tom Homan was trying to grab headlines this morning ICE was again circling our schools. They’ve been out all morning and no “drawdown” is enough until every single one of these agents is out of our state and DHS is abolished.
- If you want to read the transcript of the February 3 hearing where Julie Le had her "this job sucks" meltdown, now you can: drive.google.com/file/d/1FnY2...

View full threadAll in all, while Le's frustrated asides got the most attention, this hearing is most shocking for how little control there is over ICE. Even an experienced and respected AUSA like Anna Voss can't get them within a mile of compliance.
- And, finally, WE ARE WINNING. They're crumbling, and the full firepower of the Minnesota bar isn't close to online yet. The combined might of our state's attorneys will soon be able to double, triple, 10x, the number of filings. They can't cope.

- NEW: Abigail Spanberger this afternoon ordered that all state agencies leave ICE's 287(g) program. This means that the state police (and some other agencies) will no longer be empowered to detain and arrest people for ICE. Big, big move by the governor within weeks of coming into office.

- I can say without any fear of contradiction that I know as much or more than anyone in modern American journalism about the absolute, no excuses necessity of operating in the black. In many cases much more since if you’re a big player there are lots of creative ways to operate ….

- 11/ so fuck this whole thing. Then the self-immolation cuts start. If there’s one thing a local paper needs, a metro paper needs its sports. If you can’t do sports, which has a mass audience, you can’t do anything. When you cut your sports section it’s because you actually don’t want the paper …
