lemme tell you something about the elders who work at Hampton University:
them people love paperwork
the “Hampton run around” is part of the initiation process. Anything you want done requires a form…in triplicate! And that was as recent as 2012.
you wanna hang a flyer in the student center or even in your own dorm? gotta have it approved by student activities, gotta get the embossed stamp. (expect a one-week turnaround.)
you wanna start a new club? no matter how informal, gotta have a faculty advisor, gotta have by-laws, gotta have an e-board.
it’s going to be decent and in order!
there’s going to be records!
there’s going to be an appeals process.
and BABY, there will be fees!
I should’ve *never* been worried about that Blexit group down at my Home By the Sea because those cotton-heads didn’t know who they were dealing with.
Nov 4, 2025 02:59they don’t know the septuagenarians in the office who could’ve retired years ago but stay because rules and routine keep them feeling young and refusal arouses them!
they didn’t know that a single typo or the right answer on the wrong line would have them packed up.
Hampton told the news: we received 36 vendor applications and we approved 18. A 50% approval rating!
(And I told you they’ll whip out a record real quick)
Vendors PAY Hampton to come sell things during HC. Hampton gets the vendor fee whether you break even or not. They have every incentive to approve as many apps as possible (and the space to extend the bazaar) but they said “we don’t want your money” to HALF of the people who offered to pay them.
The Hampton Run-Around ran them people around and right up off the campus. Love to see it. 💙🏴☠️
shoutout Ms. Johnson, Ms. Walker, Ms. Baker, Ms. Long and all the other HU Employees who insist on honorifics — don’t change ladies! Thank you for your service 🫡
