- I added in the wrong Ryan ... :-( ... this one is the correct one: @ryanapanela.bsky.social; well, more science exposure for everyone. and while you may have a moment, check out Ryan's recent pre-print on event segmentation during story listening in noise: osf.io/preprints/ps...
- Finally out: www.eneuro.org/content/earl... fMRI during naturalistic story listening in noise, looking at event-segmentation and ISC signatures. Listeners stay engaged and comprehend the gist even in moderate noise. with @ayshamota.bsky.social @ryanaperry.bsky.social @ingridjohnsrude.bsky.social
- Hearing loss is the biggest potentially modifiable risk factor for dementia, but how many people know about this, how does it affect their behaviors, and what socioeconomic and demographic factors influence having heard about the link. Find out in our latest research: www.medrxiv.org/content/10.6...

- Reposted by Björn HerrmannVery cool stuff! I am very much enjoying the Neon trackers and its wonderful they show overlap with stationary trackers.
- New work from the lab: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... Mobile eye-tracking glasses assess listening effort through pupil size and eye movements as good as a stationary eye tracker. But mobile glasses also show that people reduce their head movements when listening becomes more effortful.
- Reposted by Björn HerrmannLarge language models automate event segmentation & recall scoring with human-level accuracy. LLMs identify event boundaries more consistently than humans, while semantic embeddings enable scalable memory assessments. @ryanapanela.bsky.social @bjherrmann.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s44...

- Automated, language-agnostic speech recall scoring is now published in Trends in Hearing: doi.org/10.1177/2331... This opens new avenues for speech comprehension research, making assessments of narrative speech recall a bit easier.
