- Another fantastic symposium at #BPA2025 with Dr Enda Byrne, Dr Warda Syeda, Dr Trang Cao, and Prof Josselin Houenou, addressing one of the foundational challenges in biological psychiatry; the heterogeneity of psychiatric disorders.
- The amazing science continues with our second session for the day at #BPA2025! Congratulations to @kynaconn.bsky.social, Heather Cruickshank and Xavier Maddern on being awarded the highest ranked abstracts for this years meeting.
- From exploring psilocybin’s effects on dopamine responses, to the role of melatonin in bipolar disorder, and the sex-specific neurocircuitry of binge drinking, this session truly captured the depth and breadth of work being undertaken in the BPA community 🤩
- Day 2 of #BPA2025 kicked off with a brilliant symposium, where Claire Foldi, Anthony Hannan and Thomas Burne, shared their landmark work in developing a comprehensive online library categorising and evaluating animal models for psychiatric conditions.
- As discussed by Lived Experience Advisory Panel Chair Heather Cruickshank this co-designed resource will hopefully address a critical challenge in mental health research and accelerate treatment development. We can’t wait to see more from this great collaborative effort! 🐁🧠🧬
- Our first BPA ECR plenary award winner is Georgia Caruana, presenting her work on biological correlates of cognition in bipolar disorder #BPA2025
- Our second BPA Early Career Researcher Excellence Plenary Award winner is Nicola Acevedo (ECR category), with her work on neurobiological treatments for obsessive-compulsive disorder, with a focus on modulating neurocircuitry at #BPA2025
- Another great Data Blitz session at #BPA2025, with excellent talks on a range of fascinating topics 🧠
- Starting the afternoon with the 16th Aubrey Lewis Award Lecture at the #BPA2025, presented by Dr Natalie Matosin
- An amazing line-up of speakers in the first datablitz session at #BPA2025!🧠
- Starting the first morning of the #BPA2025 with a great symposium: ‘How does the hypothalamus contribute to mental illness? Thinking beyond endocrine dysfunction’ With @dr-cjp.bsky.social, Shayna O'Connor, Dr Jacqueline Iredale, and Dr Trevor Steward
