We should elevate the people who produce our food to hero status. Out there in all weather, monitoring, cultivating, fixing and mending - farmers and ranchers are so essential & under appreciated, it's stupid. Want to starve to death in your own filth? I appreciate the sentiment, and what you say about the work is true, but I don't buy into the whole "hero" thing tbh.
It's a job. A job I enjoy for the most part. Does it suck sometimes? Sure, but I also get to be out in the sun, work with my best bud (my dog) and I enjoy looking after the animals.
