- This is a big one! We have two symposia, a book review roundtable, and a provocative and remarkable opening essay by Rabab El Mahdi that problematizes the framing of 'regional' or 'local' perspectives within Middle East political science. #menasky
- The first symposium is on gender politics and democratic backsliding with 12 (!) contributions, covering a range of cases including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria as well as broader theoretical and comparative essays.

- Our incredible newsletter team's term is coming to an end soon! We're looking for a new editor - or a team - to take on this exciting role for the next 3 years. The deadline for nominations is June 1, and the editorial term will start after the fall 2024 issue. More details in the next posts >
