- True about great powers and leverage. But the millions who rose, the thousands murdered, the street momentum are real. The strength of empire feeds on the ritual reaffirmation of hierarchy and inevitability, even when masked as critique. Democracy, however fragile, can still be built from within.
- Ideology is now adopted in TikTok bits for a targeted purpose and dropped within 24-48h. It's no longer even about "liberating" and "bringing democracy." I'd say that even the oil/resource messaging is weak, overtaken by my hemisphere, my backyard discourse. Basically, domination is its own message.

- In Romania, we entered the post-election phase when, aside from further limiting access to services & education through ineffective budget cuts, the Beautiful Decent Cultural Gatekeepers gather to insult those they've been gatekeeping from with stale metaphors. Annoying bc I like that Ionescu play.
- I've been working on developing a critical ecosemiotic approach for the arts. A preliminary framework is the one I used in my article on Vajont & Michelucci's church. Still work in progress but for now, there are 2 regimes: 1. present-focused, vernacular-knowledge; 2. technocratic, future-projecting

- It’s astonishing how limited climate consciousness remains in Canadian public discourse. CA's progressive image hides deep conservatism, especially around extractive policies. To illustrate: wildfires are raging but national debate is stuck on how the conditions for a new pipeline can be created.
