- Reposted by Anne Bjorkman🌸Plant diversity dynamics over space and time in a warming Arctic 🌸 Our new study @nature.com analysed plant diversity change in >2000 tundra plots over 4 decades. We found that plants changed unevenly, mostly driven by warming and biotic interactions. www.nature.com/articles/s41... 🧵 (1/7) 🌐🧪🌱🌍
- For the polyploid fans AND the pollinator fans out there, some thoughts on polyploid establishment 🐝🪰🌿🌱

- Reposted by Anne Bjorkman🎄 Advent calendar for plant enthusiasts! With @vercakalnikova.bsky.social, we have gone through our photo archives and, quite unsurprisingly, found many alpine plants there. From now on, at least until Christmas, we will introduce one alpine plant species a day in this 🧵 ⏬⏬
- Reposted by Anne Bjorkman65 years ago, on 1/12/59, 12 countries (now 67) signed the Antarctic Treaty, declaring that "Antarctica shall be used for peaceful purposes only". Despite being a sanctuary devoted to science, global change is threatening Antarctic ecosystems, and the situation is even worst at the Arctic. (1/2)
