Trying a different way to do black armor with my Dragon Ogres

I built this Shadowsword to comply with the old Forgeworld rules. Unfortunately, those rules no longer exist. Oh well, at least it looks cool. I miss my +1 Ballistic Skill. 🥺

I find that black is the most difficult colour to get right, especially on "hard" surfaces like a Space Marine. I tried painting Black Templars and it just didn't work 😅 I'm pretty happy with how my Balrog turned out though - organic shapes are easier (because you can drybrush them!)

Holy moly, the file says I painted this guy back in 2018. Surely that cannot be true, I’m quite sure that must have been 2 years ago at most…
