- Reposted by Lady StryxThere's no gate to art. My parents aren't artists. I wasn't close to a library. We didn't even have internet until I was in high school. I used Crayola and regular 2H pencils until high school. My paint was all the 99 cent craft paint. I painted on foam core scraps, rocks & cardboard.

Reading and going to the library are things adults do too, and probably should do more of with the literacy crisis.

But it's a false connection. We don't "need" ANYBODY'S love or approval to survive.
