- I’m filled with so much gratitude it’s hard to even put it into words 🥲 2025 marked a decade in TV for me. A decade living in 4 different states, countless hours on-air covering extreme weather, & countless stories & field reports to make the climate crisis more relatable. #AMS2026

View full threadI’m truly honored for an award from my @ametsoc.org weather & climate peers. Even more special, I got to share the stage w/ incoming president Alan Seamls, a fellow @cornelluniversity.bsky.social alum & veteran broadcast meteorologist who has been a mentor & role model to me since I was a student.
- I’ve been at @ametsoc.org since I was a student, but this one is special. It feels full circle, like that eager student would be really proud of the young professional holding that award, proud of the path we trailblazed in climate communication, & excited for what’s next. 🥲#AMS2026
- We’re all back from Houston, but the application for the 2026 AMS Early Career Leadership Academy is STILL OPEN! You have 8 days to get your application, so don’t miss your chance! #AMSECLA2026
- And that's it for #AMS2026! Us Buffs had a wonderful time! We've been fortunate to attend the whole conference! CU in Denver next year!
- It has been a great week! This will likely be my last AMS for a while, so I’m glad this was such a great week of presenting, networking, and hanging out with old friends! #AMS2026

- An appropriately nerdy way for a boundary layer meteorologist to return home from #AMS2026. It was a wonderful week learning about outstanding science!
- We’re home after a great trip to Houston for #AMS2026. Lots of good conversations, presentations, and posters. We’re looking forward to August when you’re all in our hometown for the #AMSMadisonSummit! I wonder if we might host a little get together. 🤔

- The reason why I was at #AMS2026 this week: To talk about our 24x7 Jersey Shore Streaming Weather Channel! A group of 60+ Meteorologist listened to how @sparkable and I built this platform. And, we're doing it cheaper than many competitors, too.

- A federal proposal to dismantle NCAR, one of the world's premier climate and weather research centers, shocked climate scientists when it was announced in December. Alan Seals, president of the @ametsoc.org, joins us to discuss the latest updates. bigpicturescience.org/episodes/col...

- And that’s a wrap for #AMS2026 Houston! Another great installment of the Annual Meeting is in the books. Safe travels to wherever you head next whether that is back home, vacation, or anywhere else. Let’s do this all over again in Denver next January for AMS 2027!
- First time back at #AMS2026 in ~10 years, and it was so invigorating to be back in that atmosphere. Plus our amazing team shared some great updates from the Fire Wx Testbed! Ready to leverage new insights & connections to continue elevating the FWT’s place in the fire wx community!
- The dissolution of NCAR remains a very real possibility, as discussed at a town-hall meeting this week at #AMS2026. @climateconnections.bsky.social yaleclimateconnections.org/2026/01/the-...

- Under-rated, incredibly important sessions at the @ametsoc.org conference on: 1. Leveraging UX research, design thinking, social & behavioral science for more impactful decision support services; & 2. Better serving & preparing rural & hazard-prone communities to respond to disaster events. #ams2026
- As someone who is both an engineer and a meteorologist I loved hearing Dr. Martin Peterson speak on the code of ethics in engineering in the context of how we can apply ethics in meteorology. #AMS2026

- @nws.noaa.gov Director Ken Graham presented on NOAA’s modeling grand challenge at #AMS2026 this morning. He announced that the NWS is moving to MPAS as its modeling dynamical core, with his #1 moonshot goal being a global, fully coupled 3-km Earth prediction system using MPAS.
- You’ve probably heard of the NOHRSC snowfall analysis, but did you know there’s a similar national gridded analysis of freezing rain being developed? Dave Novak from WPC is highlighting work on the FRANA freezing rain analysis underway at the NWS #AMS2026
- Check out this fascinating presentation by ATS student Andrew Muehr on the potential sources of air in storm updrafts, and how this may inform their intensity! @ametsoc.org #ams2026
- AMS reception night was a blast! First, I headed up to CSU’s reception and talked with some prospective students. Then, I visited UIUC’s reception and got to see my undergrad research advisor, Dr. Nicole Riemer for the first time since graduating! @ametsoc.org @climasillinois.bsky.social #ams2026
