The US and Turkey should team up and support the separation of Iraqi Kurdistan. And the new country should have equal Yazidis representation. The Yazidis faced a genocide by ISIS and have been living in tents for the past 12 yrs with no support from Iraq. That is wrong and needs to change.

KRG’s core project has been autonomy inside Iraq. They not that concerned with what happens in Syria or Turkey. “The Kurds” aren’t one single political actor. It's bit like thinking that white people in England and Ireland have the same goals.

That’s simply pragmatism: Kurds know that NATO countries wouldn’t support having Türkiye give up territory for them, but might do so, if only the Syrian side gains independence. But Türkiye fears that if Kurds are given a “foot in the door”, they would then provide assistance to their “brothers”
