- So...it turns out that Yin and Yang live in our sanctuary, in perfect harmony! Don't believe me? Here’s the proof! 😉 (Renzo looks for Timbi to keep him company; Timbi likes to sleep with his head all “flopped over” I don’t know why; and Renzo even puts his little paw on him!) Yin and Yang! 😄
- Huge difference in just 4 days. When rescued this baby had a rectal prolapse, eye infection, malnutrition, a swollen paw, fleas and was filthy. Only 4 days later....look at the difference love, a safe roof, medical care and good nutrition makes!! Meet the renewed RENZO!!
- Renzo has a LOT to say...Rescued 2 days ago, he had a rectal prolapse, eye infection, a swollen paw, fleas...the first night was crucial...but he passed it with flying colors! Now he talks all the time. And he's adamant that his full name is Renzo LINDO (Renzo Cutie)😄 No it's, buts or ands about it!
- Rescued this little one who had a rectal prolapse, eye infection, a swollen leg, fleas, filthy. The vet sent him home with meds and a warning that the night would be critical. This morning he meowed loudly. He wants to live! Still watching closely, but hopeful. Let me introduce you to RENZO.
- Rare photo of the elusive Bubito, a specimen of the genus Disobedientus Camouflagious Felidae, rumored to have taken residence in our sanctuary. Infrequent sightings have been reported. Current whereabouts (in the sanctuary): Unknown. *Bubito was rescued by Girl Scouts. He is healthy and stealthy. 😉
- Hostage situation - my phone is being held for "catsiderable ransom". Lorenzo is a skillful negotiator. What should I offer??
- This baby shows every sign that he was abandoned. Mild-mannered, great on leash. LOVES to be around children, dogs and cats. Goes outside to do his "business". Perfect inside dog. Meet BRUNO, most recent rescue. Hopefully we'll find him a home. But will always wonder how can these pups be abandoned.
- Oh well...I didn't need that hand anyway....I have another one. (Musa wanted to cuddle tonight.)
- Trust. There is nothing quite as compelling as being the object of their trust. Nothing quite like knowing that they feel so safe that they want to be near. Oh that I may always be so deserving...that I may never stop being a safe harbor for them. (*Eleanor rests on my legs.)
- Timbi spends much time with noticeable disorientation. Mostly seems as though he's looking for something. Often walks in circles. And, sometimes, he tucks his tail between his legs when the disorientation gets a bit much. I pick him up so we can cuddle. That calms him and he dozes off. My baby...❤️
- Although sad, I'm thankful for the honor of having met the irreplaceable Jane Goodall. I pray & trust that we will have the courage and persistence to carry on her legacy of conservation and respect for this planet, our only home. Thank you Jane for such a magnificent example. Rest in light & peace.
- Making biscuits is hard work! ELEANOR shows off her hard work and talent. (Eleanor was rescued outside a community movie theater called "The Roosevelt", hence her name.)
- These are our Resident Authors: IBSEN (Henrik) and AGATHA (Christie). They are siblings and have been with us for 8 years.
- This is "Irmo", one of the long-standing members of the Carport Gang - the neighborhood cats who hang out in our carport. (They are fully vetted.) Irmo is super affectionate. Here, he was giving our enclosed front yard a try. Looks like he liked it, don't you think?
- Timbi & Kaila are the oldest in the sanctuary. Timbi (14) walks in circles, needs help to drink water, gets "stuck" in corners and seems "out of it" often. But he loves to eat & cuddling is his favorite thing ever! Kaila (16) has mobility difficulties (being treated) but has never been sassier! 🐶🥰❤️
- We had a little vet stint yesterday with Lorenzo. He was NOT happy....But, today he seems a lot better so it had to be done. He's almost back to his full boisterous self.
- Timbi had a couple of rough days this week. As you know, Lorenzo (the kitty) takes care of him and generally keeps him company. BUT, this weekend it was Kaila who would simply NOT LEAVE his side. She stayed near him (and even cuddled w/him) the whole time. They've known each other for 12 years.
- My little prince, Timbi, sometimes wakes up disoriented. Today, he was also shivering. I wrapped him up and brought him to cuddle with me. His breathing slowed, his shivers stopped, and he slept soundly for an hour or so. I also breathed easier as I said a prayer for his health. My beautiful boy. 🤍
- Took a week, but the catio extension is done! Now, the furnishings and decorations for the feline residents.

Link in bio.
- Stay with whomever looks at you the way Maldo looks at Marley. He is so besottedly in love with her ever since he first saw her! 😍 (She, on the other hand, could do with less of his attentions 😌). Maldo was rescued from a dumpster 4 yrs ago as a little sickly baby. He has come a long way. 😻
- Kaila and Timbi in their "synchronized sleeping" mode. 🤭 (Kaila was rescued 15 years ago from abuse by children; Timbi was rescued 12 years ago from a busy intersection. They have been wonderful residents of our sanctuary.)
- Today is an exciting day for our sanctuary! Construction starts for the extension of the catio!! More cats will be able to enjoy wider, more comfortable spaces (we are NOT a fan of cages except for transport or extenuating circumstances). Hopefully, the extension will be done by tomorrow. 😃😻🤞💪
- Eleanor and Marley enjoying happy hour in the patio. (Marley was an owner surrender when she was just 3 months old. Incredibly, she never got adopted so she had a home with us. Eleanor was rescued from a small community named "Eleanor Roosevelt" and is our resident sage. 😻)
- Timbi and Marley cozying up to each other 🥰 (Both are residents of our sanctuary, rescued in 2013 and 2014, respectively.)
- "OK, sooooo....how about that dinner? You think we can get a bit o' that as in SOON!?!?!???" (Marley with her feline sidekicks, Musa and Mumita, demanding dinner at 2pm 😂. Don't worry, they all got some snacks 😉).
- We are experiencing record-breaking temperatures. Even the cats are "spread eagling" on the cool tiles... (This is "Bubito". Found by a Girl Scouts troop and rescued by us. He's our resident teen jock who walks tall, looks at others a bit over his shoulder, but deep inside is very affectionate 😻.)
- Lorenzo to Eleanor: "You may be on her lap, but she's mine. Don't you forget it!" 😃😹 (Lorenzo was born in our sanctuary as a result of the rescue of his momma during TNR. We waited for her to have the babies and Lorenzo and momma are still with us).
- Eleanor: "I told you!! I fit!"
- Lorenzo: "If I put my paw on her leg, she'll just have to stay and never move...ever. I'm a genius!"
- Her Royal Gorgeousness Princess Mumita
- MUMITA: Not only is she gorgeous...she's also our resident gamer 😉😁
- Reposted by FundAlmasGemelasOur companion at lunch. Had never seen this bird before. According to our server the name of this bird is "Yaboa". Beautiful and determined.
- A "why are you making me wait?" blep...Timbi waiting for the vet to look at his left eye to ask him why that eye woke up more sleepy and watery than the other.

- Parts of you may feel a bit left behind. Maybe you helped everyone else and ran out of energy for yourself. This journal is for you! ✨ Who Rescued Who? is a printable journal for emotional reflection, guided by the real stories of rescued pets. rescuestorytime.gumroad.com/l/zyavwn
- With this Journal you do TWO important things....you take time to heal yourself...and it helps our sanctuary so that we can continue rescuing others (and ourselves). Will you do that? 🥰 THANK YOU!!!!
- Reposted by FundAlmasGemelasEleanor, the wise older sister to all the feline residents of the Sanctuary. She's got it all: beauty, brains, and sass! She was rescued from a community theater called "Roosevelt Cinema", hence her name. She's a compassionate disciplinarian and teacher by example. A pleasure to be her Rescue Mom! 🩶
- Pure Calico gorgeousness!! This is Mamita. Rescued with her 3 baby girls (all calicos too!). 2 of her babies got adopted. The 3rd did not and Mamita refused to leave her side. Now, both are permanent residents in our sanctuary. Apart from strikingly beautiful, Mamita is affectionate and kind. 😻🖤🤍🤎
- Timbi on his way back from the vet. Lab results came out really well. He's such a good boy! ❤️🥰
