- This was fantastic news to wake up to
- I had to fight SO hard not to get into the weeds talking about gaze theory, and even then this review took me three goddamn hours to write
- the lighting here makes me feel like i'm going insane
- I'm not a sakuga sicko but bad lighting and compositing in anime has become such a personal bugbear, and seeing rookie mistakes like this in an adaptation of a beloved 90's shoujo manga makes me furious
- This is an even greater crime than Nanba's hover-crunches from the previous episode
- I love seeing sexuality explored in media - it just has to be done in an honest, participatory way that doesn't hinge on objectification and debasement
- Religious conservatives will tell you marriage is for procreation. Radicals will tell you it's for reinforcing gender roles and enslaving women. Both these groups are wrong. Marriage is for when your back hurts so bad you can't stand unassisted and need someone to help you off the toilet.
- This is my sincere belief, btw. Humans were not meant to live alone, and marriage is one of many frameworks that, when working properly, ensures you have someone to uphold you in your weakest moments.
- And I KNOW this is an ahistorical viewpoint. I know that historically marriage has indeed been used to trap and control women and their reproduction. But still, I'm glad I have someone in the world whose job it is to bring me medicine when I feel ill and do the dishes after I cook.
- On February 1 2025, we brought Maya home, a seven and a half pound stray, rescued from a Mexico City 7-22 and recovering from surgery. Instead of hiding, she immediately cuddled up to us and made herself at home. Here's to one year with the cutest, sweetest, sassiest little cat around
- Also I'm a weirdo and if it's an option, I'll get raw AND grilled onions. Both bring something different to the table. Don't look at me like that. Kenji Lopez-Alt agrees with me
- No tomato, no mayo
- This is probably my favorite crystal booth at the solstice fair find ever
