Yes, I know the Post can hire freelancers: my Editor-at-Large @kcchengphoto.bsky.so tells me that Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal also eschews staffers for wires and freelancers.
But it leaves photojournalists with minimal financial stability and institutional support in dangerous situations.
