- Reposted by Alexander HayThis is only related in a sideways manner, but: the story of any small slice of humanity is the story of humanity, just boiled down and distilled. So: In 2020, we had a lot of conversations about harassment at SF/F conventions, and Isaac Asimov came up several times.

- Reposted by Alexander HayWhile reporting this, I had something happen that's never happened. A comms rep for one of the co's disputed my reporting and said what I was telling them was untrue because it was not in Grok, xAI's chatbot. I was looking directly at the files. And this person was using AI to challenge the truth.

- Reposted by Alexander HayHow many opportunities did I lose because men I encountered or worked with did (or didn't) think of me as someone they could get in bed? What was the point of a reporter willing to cover an active warzone if they were still laid off after bad decisions made by the paper's senior managers and owner?
- Reposted by Alexander HayAt the same time, the extent of the Washington Post layoffs highlight how it didn't matter how hardworking, loyal, smart, collaborative, award-winning, competitive, knowledgeable and devoted so many of the staff were. It wasn't enough to prevent being laid off by one of the richest men in the world.
