- #NZpol The predictable childishness of this. Growing population + more complex needs + correcting imbalances decide govt tax/spend decisions. What they're desperate for voters to avoid is asking WHO is taxed, HOW that's done, and WHERE any of it actually goes: services to HELP US ALl... or donors?
- I saw an ad from National about an $88.8b "tax grab" by the Greens. That's actually a total of the four year costing for their Green Budget released last year, which funds healthcare, education, and lots more assets.nationbuilder.com/beachheroes/... #nzpol
- #NZpol SPEAKING OF THROWING $$$ ON BS, at the literal downstream expense of *checks notes* Absolutely Everything ELSE since '23 (hitting us directly back in the form of rates rises, higher cost of living, unemployment and ALL THE REST for "mOrE EfFiCiENcY, BeTTeR OuTcOMes!") this hasn't aged well:
- It's $36m a year, for goodness sake. The cost to taxpayers in 2023-24 from storm damage *in Tairāwhiti alone* was nearly half a billion. Yet the same govt throws tens of billions at mega-roads because they're very important for the economy. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3609...

- I'll never really understand why those like David "Princess Parties" Farrar are taken as truly serious people, especially after *his* involvement in Dirty Pol. Maybe they need to re-read that book and reassess what it continues to do to our politics, *especially* given the state of things globally.

- I have no idea why this is such a problem for some of them. I mean, especially on THIS particular issue if not *waves hands at the rest of the repacked bollocks*. If the market "wants certainty", they need to give the equivalent "investor assurance": "Get wrecked. Such contracts WILL be torn up."
