- I don't really care much about the Olympics, but Haiti's uniforms take winterwear to epic new levels of awesomeness. The only hand-painted uniforms in the games, for a nation (to quote designer Stella Jean) 'that refuses to disappear.

- It’s funny how the addition of quote marks and a space makes a boring District Line station sound like the most goth place ever.
- Taking the opportunity to have the Bob Ross show streaming in the background since I'm here by myself. Spouse advised that they don't care for it at all because, of all things, they don't like the sound he makes when he's slapping his brush against the easel. Different (painting) strokes, I guess.

- It's another chilly morning and so I have a jumper full of kittens. It's going to be 29C, so we will be managing the heat later, but right now everyone is a bit cold, despite a heating pad.
- Take a minute to really absorb the scale of what you're seeing. This is 'Cueva de los Cristales', the Cave of the Crystals, near the city of Naica in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The crystals are selenite, a type of gypsum. They formed over the last 1 million years. (📷: Javier Trueba, MSF)
