- Ugly duckling news: Society has become so badly detached from the natural world that even @theguardian.com journalists writing environmental stories cannot spell the word ‘cygnet’ - spelling it ‘signet’ instead 😳 Or has this been written by a machine? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

- An interesting, informative and digestible issue of @britishbirds.bsky.social journal this month 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
- Reposted by Chris GreenwoodThis is an interesting record of one of "our" birds exploring the wider region post-juvenile moult. It has moved 18km through the Snake Valley, the first confirmed record of an Eastern Moors juv moving in a westerly direction pre-migration - knowledge only possible through colour-ringing #ukbirding
- Reposted by Chris GreenwoodOne of our local colour-ringed juvenile Ring Ouzels has turned up near Glossop. The lower bird in photo, seen feeding on Rowan & Hawthorn. Ringed in the nest at Stanage on 27/6/25 (second brood) - an 18km movement west Thanks to reporter Paul Cole for sharing his photos #ukbirding #yorkshirebirding

- Reposted by Chris GreenwoodLabour promised to restore nature. ❌ Instead, their Planning Bill contains a licence to destroy it. We offered solutions. We’re done waiting. Part 3 of the Bill would gut the laws protecting our most precious habitats & species. Without significant change, it must be scrapped.

- If Steve Reed MP is so upset about a £100 million wildlife protection scheme, wait ‘til he hears about the £90 billion railway that nobody wants! It has destroyed huge swathes of the environment he is employed to protect and could basically be replaced by Zoom meetings 🤯

- If farmers block the roads and cause disruption, will they be vilified in the press, manhandled by police and sent to jail for 5 years like some other recent protestors have been? Or are some protests more equal than others? @chrisgpackham.bsky.social @herdyshepherd.bsky.social
