- Oy, last week was a doozy. Had one of the best restaurant meals EVARRRR thanks to my brill gf, and I’m still dreaming of the crispy wafer of cassava with smothered tomato and onion on top. Then KPDG sing along with my kiddo for Halloween. I really needed the extra hour of sleep.

- Dissertation defended. Now to jump through the last few hoops and formally apply to participate in my uni’s only annual commencement in May. I am so glad it’s almost over.
- Y’all I’ve been joyfully hiding under a rock all summer. Not a bad thing tbh. IRB clearance came too late to be useful. Not ready to shift back into teacher mode, but giddy that it also means recruiting participants (officially). So, yeah, imposter syndrome and anxiety are right on time. Here we go…

- This January has been the longest year. Found out a dear friend’s spouse was on the plane that crashed with the helicopter and went into the Potomac. Sudden tragic widowhood is deplorable. Blaming DEI for this tragedy is exponentially so. 47 has barely been in office 10 days. Fucking hell.

- Twin Peaks was my hyper-fixation in HS, along with RHPS. Though my Rocky cast pals were all about Sandman and RPGs, it was Dale Cooper and Diane for me. As crushed as I am over Gaiman’s actions, my heart truly mourns the loss of David Lynch, whose humanity and kindness are being sung so loud 🪵🍒🥧☕️
- Sat down with the book-report-on-steroids for a few hours and feel lots better about moving forward this semester. Running away to make soup with my sweetheart and maybe talk her into watching a little show about pirates… some of you may have heard of it.
