- Talked Zohran, Trump, and the greatest city in the world. Give it a listen!
- New episode! 🚨🕳️🚨 We're joined by our friend @lucpete.bsky.social, a Brooklyn-based journalist, Sacramento enthusiast, and former staffer for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's successful 2020 run for the New York state assembly--long before he was a household name. Enjoy www.patreon.com/posts/144470...
- Go tell everyone you know to vote for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social so we can have an @socialists.nyc member as mayor!
- She finished the marathon!!!
- G marathon day let’s go let’s win feeling good
- Take the 10 minutes to read this delicious interview. www.newyorker.com/news/q-and-a...
- 11th hour fear mongering is just entirely racism, Islamophobia, and red-baiting from Team Cuomo
- I listened to the Lorentzen pod about OBAA and I was like goddamn the other guy on this pod is really dumb. Turned out to be the guy who wrote the Vanity Fair McCarthy piece lol
- Watching horror movies is one of the many great joys of Halloween Season
- I spoke with @omarfatehmn.com about his campaign for mayor, recent attempts by party insiders to undermine him, and how to fight back against Trump. My latest in @thenation.com www.thenation.com/article/poli...
- I spoke with Council Member Alexa Avilés about her re-election campaign, why the real estate industry and pro-Israel lobby are spending so much to unseat her, and protecting immigrants under Trump.
- “The benefit of being a movement-elected official is that we’re guided by what is happening on the ground in a truly democratic way that extends beyond the ballot box.” Full interview:
- I interviewed @shahanafrombk.bsky.social about why corporations and billionaires are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to unseat her. Read below:
- “It is evident that [Eric Adams’s] administration doesn’t prioritize working people and families and is OK with peeling off investments from public schools, childcare, parks, and so much more.” www.thenation.com/article/poli...
- Bad news: after making it to another final round of an interview for an editing job, I got rejected Good news: adopted a mama cat and her kitten
- Back to trying to use this account more…
- This is a fantastic piece in @thenation.com with this particularly absurd anecdote — the REI CEO invoking social justice language to union bust. www.thenation.com/article/econ...
- One of my favorite contemporary bands, @thebrazenyouth.bsky.social , made an account — hometown, the brazen youth if these wild winds are yours, love it all, etc. just can’t skip classics. Cool to see them on here.
- I am so grateful we have publishing houses like @versobooks.bsky.social that take politics seriously. Great video with Noah Kulwin and wonderfully produced www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkI1...
- We are bringing this back in a very big way
- The answer hasn’t changed, it’s still join DSA: www.dsausa.org/get-involved/
- Just because the GOP are war hawks does not change the fact that Harris and Dems wanted more Gazan blood spilled.
- Who is speaking now?
- Gladys the cat, Gladys the GOAT
- This is the exact desired outcome of everyone frothing at the mouth to blame homeless people. Even if they aren’t responsible for this specific fire, they represent the chaos and disorder the fire has caused and should be punished accordingly.
- Feel like this is the crux of the Mamdani campaign in this mayoral race, from @cityandstateny.bsky.social
- Full op-ed: www.cityandstateny.com/opinion/2025...
- The Eighteenth Brumaire is Marx’s greatest literary feat (and also where the gears of historical materialism as analysis really get to churning!)
- Weird read. The first two thirds were a chore to read and not very interesting or useful, the last third is brilliant. Wished it was more political and covered his adult years more. His prose, perhaps due to his health when writing this, is unfortunately inconsistent, but its peak is immaculate.
- and another thing: im not mad. please dont put in the newspaper that i got mad.
- Great read to start the new year from @dennismhogan.bsky.social — we need more writers with good politics writing in the biggest possible outlets in 2025: www.nytimes.com/2025/01/01/o...
- My parents have a very nice “A Charlie Brown Christmas” cookie jar🎄
- It was mostly a rough, unproductive year, but I published some fun stuff including three print cover stories (pictured), made my Jacobin print debut, and proofread issues of Bookforum and New York Review of Architecture
- Joe Biden pardoning the Kids for Cash judge is cruel and fitting for a president who has only ever shown compassion for people who abuse power and hurt those who can’t defend themselves.
- The overwhelming, unified reaction to all this is that people really hate the health insurance industry and all those associated with it. I can only imagine this will make the Democratic Party want to be more tied to it going forward.
- Ah heck, Merry Christmas☃️🎅
- Labor movement will always be facing an uphill battle with people like Randi in leadership
- If someone says they “work in education” - they are 100% evil. If you’re a teacher or secretary, you just say that. If you “work in education” you are using Silicon Valley money to utilize AI to eliminate art and sports programs in poor neighborhoods
- No comment on the Manosphere essay, but it brings me immense joy that Conner O’Malley shouts out @mikeduncan.bsky.social Revolutions:
- “Liking” unions conceptually is useless and you might as well be honest and say that you oppose workers demanding better for themselves and their class.
- Got into an argument about the basketball GOAT and standpoint epistemology last night, which reminded me of this fantastic interview with @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social jacobin.com/2022/08/defe...
- “After attempting and failing to borrow its way out of the crisis, social democracy eventually responded to the charge that social democracy itself was at the root of the economic crisis by wholeheartedly agreeing.” Great work from @sunraysunray.bsky.social jacobin.com/2024/11/deal...
