- Got to take part in a free #naloxone kit training course today as part of my drugs and behaviour class at @uvic Overdose response training is SO important and I’m glad that my professor took this step to protect and educate her students.
- Proudest moment of my undergrad degree was referencing @theofficenbc during my honours thesis presentation yesterday :-)
- So excited to be presenting my undergraduate thesis at #vss2019 in Florida! Wish every conference I went to was on a beach 😩
- Half marathon done! Note to self: running a “technically challenging” trail run for my first half was maybe not such a good idea. #handloggershalf strava.app.link/C56ZLUHNBZ
- Having fun sharing my research from @NinetLab at the @UBCmedicine experimental medicine research expo today!
- Nothing better than when someone sees you eyeing their dog and tells you it’s ok to say hi!! 🥺🥺
- Upside of social isolation: get to have this guy in the room with me during my (virtual) therapy session! Hope you’re all getting the mental health support you need during this time 💜
- Guess I won’t work till he’s done napping..... 🤨 why do cats love keyboards so much?
- I'm excited to share work from my honours thesis that is now published! We looked at whole-face, versus featural information when perceiving facial expressions at brief intervals. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/02…
- I’m convinced that cuddles from pets are the best stress reliever (currently lying on my legs as I attempt to work while also repeatedly checking the election results and doomscrolling)
- Made my roommates cat a laptop - i read that their interest in our computers is because they’re trying to mimic our behaviour. Not sure if it’s true, but either way the results are cute AND he loves it 🤓
- My Etsy order arrived and this is the most excitement I’ve had all week! (I am seriously very excited about these)
- Expectation versus reality :) my family has collectively decided Christmas is extended until December 31st this year
- Positive start to 2021: Harold! He is a rescue from Korea, he was rescued from a meat farm at 3 years old, then lived in a shelter for 5 years because dogs raised for meat are often stigmatized in Korea. Welcome to the family buddy ❤️
- Snow day!!!
- Just got Harold’s DNA results back! @embarkvet I guessed spaniel right but the other two are a surprise 🐶
- Successfully defended my master’s thesis on zoom today! Feeling a lot of feelings. Thank you to @NinetLab for all your support, my colleagues, and to the examiners. Now looking forward to a break before the next degree 😅
- Second dose is in my arm and I’m fully vaccinated against covid!
- With all the excitement of school starting I haven’t had the chance to share my newest house mate - this is FURguson (Gus or furg for short), he weighs ~18 pounds and he is the sweetest giant. Him and Harold even like each other!
- So much snow!
- Why do all predatory journal emails begin with 'greetings of the day'? Does make it a lot faster identifying them as junk 🤷♀️
- An interview I did with @VCHResearch on my master's thesis project :) vchri.ca/stories/2022/07/08/…
- Exercised my civic rights today! Proud to have voted for some awesome @OneCityVan, @socialist_vote, and @ForwardVan22 candidates this morning 🤩
- will never get tired of predatory email greetings 😆
