- @waymo.bsky.social is coming to my area and I'm super excited! I love autonomous vehicles. So last night, I started reading "Creating Autonomous Vehicle Systems" to learn a little bit about these engineering marvels. (available from IEEE: innovate.ieee.org/wp-content/u...
- So far in chapter 1, I've learned about the various types of sensors required to build an autonomous vehicles, and the various roles they play in the decision-making systems (which I'll learn more about in future chapters).
- My favorite new-to-me sensor so far is IMUs or Inertial Measurement Units, which are a collection of sensors including accelerometers & gyroscopes, used in lots of tech, like phones. The book mentioned that IMUs tend to accumulate errors, & how autonomous vehicles use GPS to account for this. Cool~!

- I LOVE stories like these! Welcome to the community, @adrian.changeover.za.net! We're glad to have you!
- Back at KubeCon EU in Paris last year, I decided it was time to get involved with Kubernetes. I joined the contributor meet-and-greet and ended up chatting with @kaslin.rocks , @thock.in , and a few other friendly folks.
- I didn't know anything about the new User Namespaces feature until I started learning about the 1.33 release. It's an interesting feature for security that enables you to make use of user namespace isolation at the Linux level in a way you couldn't before in Kubernetes.
- A personal use case for AI: I find AI to be very helpful for pushing through transition time. Say I'm coming off of a meeting and I have 30min. I'll pop over to Gemini and explain what I'm working on & what I think I should do next. This helps me get into the mindset to do the next thing.
- So good!
- "In short: Synadia is attempting to convert a successful open source project into a closed, commercial product[...] Imagine if Google tried to take back Kubernetes after all these years of it being a neutral open source and community-driven project." That 🔥 is scalding. www.cncf.io/blog/2025/04...
