I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.

- “Separate the art from the artist” feels like a weak justification to avoid seriously thinking about the context your favorite art exists in. Literary scholars also study the author’s life and time period because it informs the novels they wrote. Neil’s work does not exist in a vacuum. #neilgaimen
- I am not saying throw all your books in the trash if you don’t want too. But I am saying that we have to read his words with this in mind, we shouldn’t ignore it. He used the influence and income from these works to exploit young fans sexually.
- If you take in a young, homeless, unpaid, vulnerable person into your home and approach them sexually on their very first day, you are garbage. Even if she said yes. The situation itself is a lack of consent. Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman were using these fans for free labor and childcare.
