- @joeveyera.bsky.social, you’ve got about an hour if you’re in the office
- I’m gonna hire an Etsy witch to help me carry the ten pin.
- I was just thinking about the 2028 Democratic Primary a bit — I guess I’m listening to politics podcasts too closely — and I’m already fairly disappointed. There are some people I want to hear from. I do want to hear from Harris, Walz, Whitmer, Buttigieg, Warren, and several others, BUT…
- I am so disappointed in Democrats’ response to anti-trans action, to ICE, to Trump in general, and their deferral on everything that at this point I look at them all very, very skeptically. I think the only one who might run who I have that kind of trust in is AOC?
- So I’m left wondering who the Democrats could run who comes from outside politics, who has sufficient big-org experience to make it work. And I just don’t see it.
- And I kind of think we’ll need someone from outside politics who understands that we can’t just let bygones be bygones and sweep this era under the rug. We need massive reforms and reorganization of structures to make things better for Americans and prevent this from happening again.
- So why does Tulsi Gabbard have the silver streak in her hair that Julia Louis-Dreyfus has for Valentina in the MCU?
- Yep, that’s what I’m seeing
- Mariners in their statue era
- … because it really won’t be because of anything *he’s* doing, right?
- This stuff bothers me way more than it probably ought to, especially considering the actual content of what they were talking about.
- I’ve taken to telling people that I don’t want “main character energy,” what I want is “guest star energy,” and I’ve had a little bit of a struggle to explain what that means. I’m mostly like, “I want to always be welcome and be able to come and go as I please,” which is sort of right?
- But the feeling I think I want people to have about me is, like, the joy a Star Trek fan feels when they see that this one is gonna be a Garak episode?
- My basic political theory has somewhat recently become, “we all just wanna be left alone, man,” and the more the current administration continues to be in people’s business occupying cities (let alone murdering people), the more I think you’ll see active dissatisfaction.
- Now there comes a time when we can no longer just leave people alone, I think history bears that out, but I don’t think even the right believes in the level of emergency that they’re trying to claim exists.
