In the corner, a shut down will backfire, but that is because you’re asking people to sacrifice against people who won’t back down. If you frame it as we are hurting to cost the rich money, so they pressure republicans. That could at least make sense.
A government shutdown wouldn’t hurt ICE because they already have money.

But you know who can’t plan ahead longer than a week or two?
Corporate donors and their stockholders.
They are the audience you are addressing with a shutdown.
Same goes for the General Strike.
