Maracay, origin of active Mariners Leo Rivas & Eduard Bazardo, is closer. Eugenio Suárez was playing for the Leones del Caracas *this time last year*.

Cynthia Green, 8-decade resident of Seattle. “In her, we saw the sort of person we need more of, someone with the bravery to risk failure and move with love and justice…’realism’ is the language of people who have grown comfortable with inequity.” Cannot keep up with her great lines here!

- When I was a young adult teen I met Bobcat Goldthwait in the backyard of a house party in Seattle, where some apparent friends of his were doing a projector screening of Shakes the Clown in the backyard. He did a very funny tight five, mingled, and was nothing but the nicest person to everyone.

- Reposted by Bee EverfollyIt’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans. 🧵 1 of 9
- Reposted by Bee EverfollyIf you're trying to ditch NYT Games, which you should be since their games singlehandedly prop up the entire dogshit rag financially, you should switch to Puzzmo. An annual sub is 50% off today for a crazy $19 and as a bonus doesn't enable the genocides of Palestinians and trans people
- The Neverending Story III. It is by far the worst movie in the trilogy, and has almost zero redeeming qualities. It's worth watching though, simply for the early Jack Black role. He is the leader of a high school gang of bullies that call themselves the "Nasties".

- Reposted by Bee EverfollyDid you know that in Canada, if a budget doesn’t pass the government doesn’t shut down? Federal workers aren’t furloughed. Funding for social services doesn’t dry up. Failure to pass a budget triggers an election. It puts the politicians jobs on the line. They get the budget passed.

- The Seattle Mariners dropped their first game of the ALCS, and are now 2-1 against the Toronto Blue Jays, getting stomped at T-Mobile 13-4. If you were lucky enough to miss last night's affair, or want to embrace masochism and wish to relive it, I wrote the recap for @lookoutlanding.bsky.social
- Reposted by Bee EverfollyIn my life I’ve seen prodigiously good Mariners offenses fail to do anything in the playoffs, so everyone who is hitting in this postseason? Sign them all to extensions!!
- Reposted by Bee EverfollyIn the 4 playoff games John Schneider has managed the Blue Jays against the Mariners between 2022 and 2025, he's pulled his starter mid-inning each time. The numbers from the relievers to complete those half innings: 9 TBF, 2 wild pitches, 2 home runs, 4 hits, and 8(!!!) runs allowed.
- Well would you look at that. ^_^ Go Mariners!
- Reposted by Bee EverfollyThey 100 percent cooked that entire turkey on the hot dog rollers in the press box.
- If the Mariners secure the victory, it will be a mop's worth of victories in a row in the playoffs in Toronto's stadium, and I think that's beautiful. That thought alone can easily carry me through the off day until the series comes back to T-Mobile Park.

- Reposted by Bee EverfollyI feel like this looks quite prescient. Mariners pitchers attacked the zone, Blue Jays were super aggressive, contact was OK but not great and everything found a glove. Could not have drawn up a better night for the staff.

- Normally I manage to maintain neutrality in my expectations about baseball outcomes, but I'm feeling strangely confident in the Seattle Mariners being able to handle the Blue Jays, especially if they win today's game. I'm choosing to embrace playoff hype over playoff gripe.

- This is the reason the Mariners won. They can't have true victory until there was justice in the universe, until they absolved their sins. Humpy has won, and the world is a little bit of a better place because of it.
